Because we have received and found many complaints and allegations of fraud against Expungement Assistance Services, AKA: www.clearmyrecord.com or formerly removeit.org (Brian Christopher Poe CEO), we have provided some important steps people can take to fight back, get their money back, and help protect others from having the same experience.
Expungement Assistance Services (www.clearmyrecord.com) is a Kentucky based corporation. They advertise in all 50 states and, therefore, can be sued in all 50 states. If the corporation, its affiliates or any employee is knowingly committing fraud or are practicing law without a license, the corporation, its affiliates and employees may be criminally prosecuted and sued for a wide-range of damages. In most states, simply selecting a court form for another person or explaining eligibility for a specific remedy constitutes practicing law without a license and can be prosecuted in criminal and civil court— regardless of any disclaimer on their website. You can contact a lawyer in your state for more specific advice.
Additionally you can help with the investigation by completing the following:
- You can contact the John Conway Kentucky Attorney General at (502) 696-5389 and read more at http://ag.ky.gov/consumer/complaints. You can send this form to the KY Attorney General and ask him to investigate Expungement Assistance Services’ business practices. The Attorney General of Kentucky has authority to investigate and prosecute those who commit fraud in Kentucky.
- You can post a complaint at http://www.complaintsboard.com. This important step can help protect other people.
- You can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) online. The FTC has authority to investigate and prosecute those who commit fraud as part of interstate commerce.
- You can file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau by clicking here and enter the company’s phone number 800-870-1617. This important step can help protect other people.
