I made a mistake in the past and I now have a criminal record. I want to become a teacher- if I get my criminal record expunged, will schools still see my record? Is it still possible to become a teacher?

Is it even possible to get my record expunged?

It is not possible to say without further information regarding your record. But I hope this would help.

A nonpublic school voluntarily implementing the provisions of this chapter
may choose not to employ any person who is a violent offender as defined by
KRS 17.165(2), has been convicted of a sex crime which is classified as a
felony as defined by KRS 17.165(1), or has committed a violent crime as
defined in KRS 17.165(3). A nonpublic school may employ, at its discretion,
persons convicted of sex crimes classified as a misdemeanor.
