In 1975 I was in a car getting a ride home from a gig in Belmar, NJ when the driver gets pulled over for speeding on Main St. in Avon by the Sea. The police say “OK, I smell the weed. You can give it to me or i’ll tear up the car looking for it.” The driver reached down and handed it to him. (We both got arrested for possession.)
Needless to say, this has been hanging over my head like a rain cloud.
