Free Pardon Applications

Almost 15 years ago I was stopped driving and a friend in the car had a very small amount of drugs which they dropped on the console. At the time I could not afford a decent attorney and the one I got advised me to plead guilty. I did and served my 5 years probation and have been clean and sober for those 15 years….But now I just cannot get a decent job. I have qualified for many but each and every time the conviction gets me disqualified. It is like I am being punished for the rest of my life for a mistake I made years ago and no matter that I have not touched drugs or alcohol for 15 years and I work ever single day in a job that pays much less than other people doing the same job I will be punished for the rest of my life and it will cost me tens of thousands of dollars just because of one mistake.

How did you get ANY job? I can’t with a shoplifting arrest.

I ended up having to start my own business. No one would hire me for job over $12/hr, and that won’t support my family, even when it was an assault in self defense and my only other option was to turn to other crime. I would advise being bluntly honest with employers and accepting full responsibility. I’ve at least had employers try to see what they could to get me a job when I was straight forward with them.
