I was unwillingly charged years ago when I was in my early 20s. I was not able to go into the field I most wanted to go into – Law Enforcement or Nursing. Now that I am a College Graduate and am paying for my own schooling, I want to again help my community. I am trying to apply for my local FD, but fear that this charge will be a blemish on my record. I passed a few background checks, but I don’t think I will pass this one, it is specific to what I was charged with. Having no criminal past other than this item on my record, I feel that it should not be held against me any longer.
