Restoration of Washington Firearms » Requirements

Certain felony violations require a five-year waiting period after a conviction while others require a three-year waiting period as well as completing all the terms of probation. If you were convicted of a Class A felony or one of the enumerated crimes, your gun rights may be restored only by obtaining a pardon.

You are eligible for restoration of Washington gun rights if the following conditions are met.

If Convicted of a Felony

  • Not convicted of a sex offense that prohibits firearm ownership
  • Not convicted of a Class “A” Felony
  • Not convicted of a felony punishable with a maximum sentence of 20 years or more.
  • 5 years have passed without any convictions or charges for another offense
  • No other felonies that prohibit the possession of a firearm on your Washington Offender Score.  (If you are interested in this service and you have more than one felony case, we charge $100 to do an Offender Score check for eligibility)

If Convicted of a Non-Felony Offense

  • 3 years have passed without a conviction or charges for another offense
  • Not convicted of a sex offense that prohibits firearm ownership
  • Not convicted of a Class “A” Felony
  • Not convicted of a felony punishable with a maximum sentence of 20 years or more.
  • No other felonies that prohibit the possession of a firearm on your Washington Offender Score.  (If you are interested in this service and you have more than one felony case, we charge $100 to do an Offender Score check for eligibility)
  • Completed all conditions of the sentence
