hey y’all,
just wanted to tell my story. it was super easy (and i know nothing about law). in iowa, there are no forms and you just write a letter to the judge about why you want an expungement. i wrote a nice long letter about wanting to be a better momma for my baby gal, and how an expungement would help me get a part-time job to help support my family. the judge signed it off, and i got an expungement just like that. ;D
thank the lord i live in iowa because i was lookin at some of those fancy forms y’all have from other states and i dont think i could have figured those out. i dont know how other states work but if you live in iowa like me then you should try and clear your record.

How long did you have to wait before they would expunge your record? Also, what was the fee? Finally, was it a misdemeanor or felony?
