Former Employees Expose Expungement Assistance Services (ClearMyRecord.com)
LEXINGTON, KY
June 7, 2008
The long list of complaints about Expungement Assistance Services (www.ClearMyRecord.com, formerly www.removeit.org) posted at the consumer protection web site, RipoffReport.com, grew by four as "former employees" posted their claims about the "legal aid" company's "fraud" and "scam" tactics.
One posting whose author identified himself as Willard stated that: "Most everything on the website is either blatantly false or purposely misleading. There are no lawyers or attorneys employed by the company, the testimonials on the site were written by someone in the company, not actual customers, and the RSVP software just does not exist. I don't think that can be overstated."
According to a "former employee" identified as Trish,"The RSVP software mentioned on the website, as well as on RipOffReport, is in fact a fraud.' She had a warning for existing customers, "There are no counselors working on your case anymore."
Another complaint made it personal by claiming that CEO, Brian Poe, is a "scammer."
Repeated calls to Expungement Assistance Services' customer support and sales phone number were going unanswered on attempts to reach them on June 4 -5.

Sources tell us that Expungement Assistance Services may receive $500,000 in funding from Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development. These funds may be in jeopardy in light of reports of investigations from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office and other claims of fraud. If you feel tax dollars should not be spent on this company, contact Mandy Lambert at the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development (502) 564-7670 or via email at econdev@ky.gov.

The four former employee's claims of "fraud" that were posted on RipoffReport.com (Bad Business Bureau) have gone unanswered by anyone at Expungement Assistance Services. The consumer protection website allows business to reply to claims by consumers and employees.
Calls to the California office phone number listed on the company's website were going unanswered June 5 - 6. The voicemail announcement was for an office supply company. No reference on the voicemail was made to expungement or ClearMyRecord.com.

Consumer complaints and horror stories from former employees continue to pop-up on the internet almost on a daily basis (see ripoffreport link above, www.my3cents.com, www.planetfeedback.com and www.complaintsboard.com). The large number of complaints and reports of crooked policies begs the question, how many disgruntled clients are there? Expungement Assistance Services made an attempt to discredit the onslaught of complaints by former employees by posting an official response and testimony from a current employee; both responses were illusive and seemed mindful of potential litigation. The former employees answered with details and documents that they claim prove that the company's policies were fraudulent.
This author spoke on the phone with a former customer of Expungement Assistance Services who said over a year ago she received a threatening email from Expungement Assistance Services after she had to ask repeatedly about the status of her case. The customer said the email header showed that it was sent to dozens of customers. The letter threatened to discontinue work on her case without a refund and possible litigation if she complained publicly about the company. After several more months of inaction by EAS, she gave up on them and had an attorney get the job done for her.
