I have written here before, but never received any reply, so I am determined, and back again to post my question once more.
Â
In 1967 I was 18 years old and was convicted along with two other guys for armed robbery while in the army. All three of us were given 30+ years in Leavenworth, and all three of us were released on good behavior early. My release was in October 1969. Now at age 62, I can look back at my past and know full well that it was a youthful indescretion which prompted me to join the other two in what we thought was just mischief out of bordom while stationed in Fort Hood Texas.
I have since never been convicted of even as much as a driving violation, and have had a family, two homes, some college, and graduated from two technical schools with high grades. I've done various community volunteer service and have been a model citizen for now 42 years. I doubt that I am a risk to the community because of my past, and would like very much to expunge my record. Its a matter of prinicipal! The community seldom trusts ex offenders and have this perception that we are all bound to return to our old ways. I have proven that this perception is without any foundation and want to community to acknowledge it.
If you are an attorney reading this and can give me some feedback and even direct me towards the proper channels to expunge my record, I would appreciate it very much.
