10 years ago I got into some trouble while I was still a teenager and I have a juvenile record. I never got my record sealed, but I want to become a teacher. If I get my record sealed, will schools be able to see it? How can I seal my record? Is it still possible to become a teacher with a juvenile record?
Unfortunately, in r.i., to be a teacher even though you may have the record sealed or expunged you are in one of thos catagorie where you still have to report it to your hiring agency (prospective employers). r.i.g.l. 16-48.1 - 5 , r.i.g.l. 16-48.1-2 , r.i.g.l.16-48.1 - 3 , (r.i.g.l. 16-2-18.1&2)28-5-6,7,&8. Working around children, elderly, and the public there is more scutiny. go see a lawyer and get advise.
