I went to prison with 2 felony charges in 2006. I was released on parole, which I completed with an honorable discharge from nev. department of parole and probation in july 2007. I have had no further crimanal activity and have worked hard to rebuild my life. I now live in Salt Lake City and am being discriminated against when trying to rent an apartment. Is there anything I can do to change this?

Well, your question presents to issues.

 

The first issue asks is it lawful to discriminate in housing matters based on a person's criminal record in Salt Lake City, Utah.  I will have to research this and get back to you.

 

The first issue asks is what can be done to mitigate the harmful affect of your criminal record. There are a couple of things you can do.  First, start building good references.  These positive references can helf offset the negatives associated with your record.  Another thing you might be able to do, evenutally, is get your record sealed.  Having it sealed will keep your record from public view and eliminate such discrimination as you are currently experiencing.
