IN the  early 90s or late 80s I was  called by someone claiming to be a friend of a friend who was in a hotel room deathly sick and told him to call me.a friend  drove me  to adrian mi. to see about him .as soon as we got there they started to try to sell us pot.Needless to say ,we never saw any and  told him we just  wanted to see our friend.he gave us some story about the manager would have to be called to get in his room because he was passed out.then he says he  has some pot in the car and wouldn't we just like to check  it out.I said no i want to see my friend and if i was interested i'd have to see him and have him get it for me.I had a grand total of 1.10 cents in my pocket no credit   was he going to arrest me?They got us over toward this car he said was his and didn't we just want to check it out.finally we got so sick of hearing about it we thought we'd let him show us just to shut him up.As soon as they opened the car door a bunch more cops jumped out and said don't move or we'll blow your heads off.well we figured we had nothing to fear ,after all,we never asked for any ,never pulled out any money ,never saw any pot nothing.what could he arrest us for? well they creatively made up a new law, conspiring to conspire to possess.My lawyer told me not to go to trial that i'd end up in prison and that they didn't call this anyway county for nothing ,that this was the baptist bible belt and they were going to  do any thing they wanted to us.they gave us 90 days which is the max for the offence ,even though neither of us had any priors.our lawers ,said to be the best around told us to plead no contest and we would get it expunged later.5years go buy i have a clean record  ,do everything they say ,do 5 yrs probation, the max ,since i lived in ohio i did  mi 5yrs prob. there ,boy were they pissed off that they were going to have to watch me for 5 yrs. on a conspiracy charge.I go back for expungment and they tell me i'm not sorry enough.My question is now that the law has changed can i go back and try again .Oh by the way our prosacuter was now the judge.wonder who's there now.the old judge ended up with my buddys house on devils lake and the prosecuter got my other buddys new eldorodo.then they took all there money.  ain't this a bitch!!
