Hi there, I hope this is a relevant question (delete if not allowed). So I have a younger sister (she just turned 23 last week) who's in a really rough spot in her life. She's been a little bit out-of-control lately: partying all the time, no job, living at home still. To be honest, I think she's sort of depressed.
I, along with the rest of my family, have been extremely worried about her, and where her future's going. There have definitely been a couple of times where I've had to pick her up from the police station. Since she's been arrested a couple of times, I'm assuming she has some sort of criminal record.
So, the family and I have discussed it, and we feel that my sister needs to get a fresh start in life. We've found a lovely church program that will take her in. However, we want that fresh start to be completely fresh, so after I found this website and read all about record clearing, we've also agreed to chip in to pay for an expungement for her.
The problem is, my sister REFUSES to change. She just keeps threatening to go out and get arrested again every time I mention an expungement. How can I convince her that she should just take the expungement and start over??? Or maybe we should just wait until after she agrees to clean up her act, then get her record expunged?
